Director Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam Files Police Complaint Against Online Trolls
Tharun Bhascker was trolled after sharing an Instagram story about Malayalam film Kappela
Telugu director Tharun Bhascker, recognized for his works like Pelli Choopulu and Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, has filed a police complaint against online trolls. He became the victim of intense trolling after sharing an Instagram story about Malayalam film Kappela. The director had shared his opinion about the stereotypical tropes followed in the Telugu cinema. This did not go down well with Tollywood fans who took to troll Tharun Bhascker.
As per the director, he and his team were abused by several people on social media. This prompted him to file a complaint with Cyber Crime Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) S.Harinath in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. He stated in his complaint that his comment was taken out of context and blown out of proportion.
Sharing the complaint, Tharun Bhascker wrote, “We also warned them that any abusive language, personal remarks here forth shall be taken seriously and we will make an official complaint to which they responded positively initially but chose to modify the conversation to look like a threat.”

Tharun had watched Malayalam film Kappela and had recommended the same to his followers. He shared the following message along with a poster of the film:
“There is no hero screaming loudly or having multiple slo-mo gravity-defying introduction scenes or action blocks with a background score. There are no long speeches on farmers, soldiers or India in the last 10 minutes. Still, these are also called movies.”
Through this message, Tharun Bhascker was referring to the stereotypical roles present in many Telugu movies. However, his post provoked the ire of Telugu movie fans who started abusing him and his team.
