Bigil has Vijay in double roles.
Vijay’s Thalapathy 63 is now officially titled Bigil. Ahead of Vijay’s birthday i.e on June 22, The makers unveiled the first look poster of Bigil on social media. In the poster, we see Vijay in dual roles of father and son. Father is seen sitting on a chair with a stern look while his son is a football coach. Here’s the poster below.

Bigil is the third collaboration of director Atlee and Vijay after their earlier blockbusters- Theri and Mersal. Nayanthara will be playing the female lead in the movie. Bigil is said to be a sports-drama based on women’s football. According to reports, one of Vijay’s characters is named Bigilu that means whistle in North Madras slang while Nayanthara’s character is named Angel.
Bigil went on floors this year in January and is expected to release this Diwali.
Apart from Vijay and Nayanthara, the movie also stars Jackie Shroff (who is playing an antagonist), Kathir, Vivek, Daniel Balaji, Anandraj, Indhuja Ravichandran, and Varsha Bollamma among others. The music has been composed by AR Rahman.
As per reports, the makers have spent a huge amount of Rs 6 crore to erect a football stadium set at the EVP Studios in Chennai.
