‘Thalaivi’: Kangana Ranaut Confirms Her Film Sold To Both Netflix And Amazon
Bollywood Actress, Kangana Ranaut Confirms Her Upcoming Film-'Thalaivi' Sold To Both Amazon And Netflix
Bollywood film industry has gone through a huge loss in the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Thus, several filmmakers have decided to release their much-anticipated films on online streaming giants such as Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hotstar and others. As per the latest reports, Kangana Ranaut who is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Thalaivi’ reveals that her film has been sold for both-Amazon and Netflix.
A latest report in Pinkvilla quoted the actress saying that her film has been sold to two online streaming giants. The actress was quizzed about the ongoing demand in the market to release the films on OTT platforms. To which actress replied, “It depends. For example, a film like ‘Thalaivi’ just can’t release on digital because it is such a massive scale film, neither a movie like ‘Manikarnika’ is a digital space film. But yes, films like ‘Panga’, ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ also cater to that audience. The way the film is made, it is very digital-friendly. They have recovered huge costs through digital itself. So, it depends.”
“For ‘Thalaivi’, it is a bilingual film. As a matter of fact, the film is sold to both Netflix and Amazon in both Hindi and Tamil for around Rs 55 crore,” added the ‘Queen’ of Bollywood.
Kangana will be seen portraying the role of Jayalalitha, a renowned political leader from Tamil Nadu. The film is a biopic of the political leader who singlehandedly ruled over Tamil Nadu and has been an inspiration for many. The film is being helmed by Vijay and it is slated to release on June 26.
