2011 heist action drama, Mankatha featuring Superstar Thala Ajith and Trisha continues to remain etched in the minds and hearts of his fans. Nine years later, Mankatha continues to rule the hearts of Ajith’s die-hard fans. The movie was recently telecast on a popular TV channel during the coronavirus lockdown. Post the airing of the film, fans took to social media to share the joy of watching the classic starring the Nerkonda Paarvai actor. The most discussed topic was Thala Ajith’s handcuff shaped pendant.
Designer Vasuki Bhaskar who worked with Thala Ajith for the film has shared some interesting trivia about the pendant. She revealed that Venkat Prabhu wanted the chain with a dollar pendant, as money in dollars plays a crucial role in the film. Vasuki says they finally zeroed in on the handcuff-shaped pendant since Ajith plays a disgraced cop.

The director Venkat Prabhu wanted Thala Ajith to have a dollar shaped pendant as the climax scene shows the money been set on fire. But, eventually, the lead actor decided on wearing the handcuff shaped pendant in the southern drama. He is seen removing his chain and throwing it into the fire in the climax of the film. This must be to show that he is free now.
Thala Ajith will be seen in an upcoming film called Valimai. This film is also helmed by the Nerkonda Paarvai director H Vinoth.
