On Tuesday, 3rd July 2018, heavy rains wreaked havoc on many parts in Mumbai, throwing life out of gear. Mumbai has been witnessing heavy Monsoon rains since Tuesday morning. In span of mere 6 hours from 8:30 am to 2:30 am, Santa Cruz Observatory recorded very heavy rains to the tune of 83 mm. Since Monday till now, Mumbai has recorded torrential rains of 214 mm.
This is not the end, we need to watch out for some more days as rains are likely to follow similar trend. Normal life has been disrupted, with rail and road traffic being impacted the most.
According to the civic body’s disaster management cell, at least ten incidents including fire break out, bridge collapse and accidents were reported from across the city but luckily there were not much casualties.

Let’s go through rain havoc in Mumbai in past few days:
1. On Tuesday, 3rd July 2018, the bridge connected Andheri West and East collapsed on a railway track.
2. On Tuesday, 3rd July 2018, Mira Road railway station witnessed fire eruption in an under construction ticket window.
3. Dahanu local caught fire on the Western Railway route near Virar.
4. Reportedly, a fire broke out in a building at Kamala Mills compound in Lower Parel due to a shot circuit.
5. Heavy traffic jam allover the major route of Mumbai.
6. Navi- Mumbai water blocking issue.
7. A massive fire broke out in a residential building at Charni Road in Mumbai on June 24th, 2018.
8. Major Fire Break out at Shalimaar Building, Lawrence Compound near Khira Industrial estate, at Santacruz west.
9. The double-decker bus’s roof got ripped off after it crashed into an overhead barricade on 3rd July, 2018.
10. The 12-seater plane crashed into an under-construction building on 28th June, 2018.
