Telugu producer Pokuri Rama Rao Passed Away Due To COVID-19 At 65
He was tested positive a few days earlier
Telugu film producer Pokuri Rama Rao left for the heavenly abode on July 3 at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He had tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago and was under observation. However, he succumbed to the infection and breathed his last at the age of 65.
As reported by multiple sources, Pokuri Rama Rao underwent surgery due to heart-related ailments ten months ago. The producer’s passing adds another sad passing to the entertainment industry after the recent deaths of legendary stars like Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Saroj Khan.
Pokuri Rama Rao had produced many films along with his brother Pokuri Babu Rao under their home banner Eetaram Films. Amongst his numerous projects were films like Ranam, Ontari, and Yagnam.
The last rites for Rama Rao will take place on July 4 in the presence of his family members at Erragadda Smashana Vaatika in the city.
123Telugu quoted a source as saying, “After he recently contracted Coronavirus, Rama Rao was admitted to Continental Hospital in Hyderabad. He was undergoing treatment. With the health condition deteriorating in the last few days, he breathed his last after being on ventilator support.” His family is yet to release an official statement on his demise.
The number of COVID-19 cases in Telangana currently stands at 18,570 with 275 deaths so far. Recently, Tamil-Telugu TV actress Navya Swamy also tested positive. She took to Instagram to share her Covid-19 experiences.
Moreover, celebrities like producer Bandla Ganesh, designer Shilpa Reddy, and her husband were also tested positive earlier.
