Famous Telugu actress Geetanjali Ramakrishna passed away due to Cardiac arrest on October 31. The actress was going through a treatment when she breathed her last at a private hospital in Hyderabad. The popular actress passed away in the wee hours on Thursday evening.
The actress had an illustrious career in the film industry. Geetanjali Ramakrishna featured in about 500 films. Not only that, she featured in multipal languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. It was the senior NTR who introduced her to silver screen. The film titled Seetharama Kalyanam in back in the year of 1961.
Some of Geetanjali’s famous works include Dr Chakravarthy, Letha Manasulu, Bobbili Yuddham, Devatha, Letha Manasulu, Gudachari 116 and Sambarala Rambabu. She was born in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The actress was originally named as Mani.
Behind her name being Geetanjali is a little story; she worked in the Hindi film Parasmani, however as her name was present in the title, her name was rechristened as Geetanjali. Moreover, while she was at the peak of her career she married Ramakrishna. He has acted in many films with her.
Furthermore, after being married to actor Ramakrishna, she took quite a long break from films. The actress returned in the films though returned as a character artist. Geetanjali’s last films in Telugu is Tamannaah Bhatia’s That is Mahalakshmi. Her husband passed away in the year of 2001.
Geetanjali’s last rites will be performed today in the evening. Many fans and people from the film industry have began to pay tribute to the legendary actress.
