On Tuesday, the State Cabinet of Telangana announced a 10-day lockdown in the state effective from today to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus. The lockdown will be in place from 10 am on May 12 to May 22, according to an official release by the Telangana government. The decision to impose the lockdown was taken at a Cabinet meeting held at the residence of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
Telangana CMO announced on Twitter and stated: “The State Cabinet has decided to impose #lockdown for 10 days starting 10 am tomorrow. The lockdown will be relaxed from 6 am to 10 am daily for all the activities. The Council of Ministers has also decided to invite global tenders for procuring #Covid19 vaccine.”
Telangana Lockdown: List of Do’s and Don’ts
Allowed:
- Warehousing and cold storage activities.
- Medical shops.
- All types of medical and health services, Government and private hospitals, their staff.
- Banks and ATMs.
- Government offices would work with 33 percent of the staff.
- Public transports like the RTC and Metro available from 6 AM to 10 AM.
- Public Distribution System(Ration Shops) opened from 6 AM to 10 AM.
- Supply of drinking water, sanitation allowed in rural and urban areas. Power generation, distribution, and allied services would also be continued.
- Works under Employment Guarantee Schemes.
- Transportation on National Highways.
- Fuel stations on the National highways.Print and Electronic Media.
- Supply of LPG cylindersRation shops will open only between 6 am and 10 am.
- RTC buses and Hyderabad Metro Rail services will continue only between 6 am and 10 am.
Not allowed:
- More than 40 people not allowed to be a part of marriages without prior permission.
- More than 20 people not allowed to be present at funerals.
- Cinema halls, swimming pools, clubs, gyms, amusement parks, and sports facilities.
