A San Francisco tech CEO was caught on camera unleashing a racist tirade against an Asian Family in California. Footage of the incident that took place on the 4th of July has gone viral. It has racked up more than 4 million views. Soon many identified the man as Michael Lofthouse, CEO of Solid8, a cloud computing firm based in San Francisco.
The video was captured by Jordan Chan, who was at the restaurant celebrating a family member’s birthday. “We were celebrating my tita’s birthday, literally just singing happy birthday to her and taking pictures, when this white supremacist starts yelling disgusting racist remarks at us,” Chan wrote in an Instagram post.

In the video, we see a woman asking Lofthouse to repeat what he had just said to them. He stares at the camera for a few seconds, then extends his middle finger and said, “This is what I say.” Lofthouse further added “You f— need to leave! You f— Asian piece of s***.” A server then yells at him, “No, you do not talk to our guests like that. Get out of here.”
As soon as the video became viral Lofthouse had deleted all his social media accounts. He has also issued an apology to San Francisco’s KGO-TV. In his statement, he says that “My behavior in the video is appalling. This was clearly a moment where I lost control and made incredibly hurtful and divisive comments. I would like to deeply apologize to the Chan family. I can only imagine the stress and pain they feel. I was taught to respect people of all races and I will take the time to reflect on my actions and work to better understand the inequality that so many of those around me face every day.”
There has been a sharp rise in attacks on Asian Americans across the country. This happened ever since the coronavirus has hit the nations.
