Faqir Chand Kohli the founder and first CEO of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has passed away. Kohli, often called the father of the Indian IT industry, was 96 years old. He has passed away after reportedly suffering from a heart attack.
FC Kohli pioneered India’s ‘Technology Revolution’. He also and helped the country build the $100 billion IT industry as the first CEO of TCS.
Tata Group consoled the demise of the legend. They wrote, Remembering the visionary who paved the way for IT in India. #FCKohli you will be missed.

The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) trade association, where Kohli served as president between 1995-96, took to Twitter to express its condolences on Kohli’s demise.
N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons said, “I am deeply saddened by the news that Mr. FC Kohli passed away this afternoon. He was a true legend, who laid the very foundations for India’s spectacular IT revolution and set the stage for the dynamic modern economy we enjoy today.
He was also felicitated with the Dadabhai Naoroji Memorial award in 2000 for his contribution to India’s software industry.
