Covid-19: After donating 1500 cr, Ratan Tata opens rooms at Taj hotels for doctors

As the number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases rises in India, Ratan Tata, Chairman Tata Trusts and Chairman Emeritus Tata Sons, committed Rs 500 crore towards the manufacturing of personal protective equipment, respiratory systems, testing kits and other things needed to fight it. Soon Tata Sons, the holding firm of the Tata group companies, announced an additional ₹1,000 crore support towards COVID-19 and related activities. Now the business magnate with a heart of gold has taken it a step further. He has thrown open the doors of his luxury hotels The Taj Group for the medical personnel.

Ratan Tata has opened the rooms at Taj Hotel Colaba, Taj Lands End Bandra, and Hotel President in Cuffe Parade for BMC doctors working on covid19 duty.. The news was shared by Ex-Bigg Boss contestant Vindu Dara Singh in his tweet.

The number of confirmed cases around the world crossed a million mark on Thursday. According to the latest update by the ministry of health and family welfare, the total number of coronavirus positive cases rose to 2,301 by Friday morning. There were 2,088 active cases, 157 people were cured and 56 people died.
