The Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, who is famous for her acting in Pink, Naam Shabana and Soorma is all geared up to sign another sports based movie. She will be starring in Mithali Raj’s Biopic as The cricketer herself.
Mithali is regarded as one of the greatest batswomen the game has ever seen. She was born in Jodhpur. Mithali is the highest run scorer in the international women’s cricket. She is also the only woman batsmen to beat the 6000 run mark in the WODI.
Mithali completed 20 years in cricket last week. She celebrated this anniversary with family, friends, coaches and mentors. She also mentioned that she is looking forward to more such anniversaries in the coming years.
During the Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup, she became the leading one in scoring runs. It was held in June 2018.
Taapsee, on the other hand, will have to undergo rigorous training in cricket as a preparation for her role. “The script is not in place so it’s too early to talk about it. Right now, they are collecting material and the script has not been written yet. If they offer me, I will be very happy. I really want to do a sports biopic,” Taapsee said to India today when asked whether she is a part of the biopic.
Viacom18 Motion Pictures bought the rights of the film. Viacom18 Motion Pictures have in the past backed content-driven films like Queen, Manjhi: The Mountain Man, Drishyam, Mary Kom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
