T-Series on course to become YouTube’s most subscribed channel
Swedish vlogger, PewDiepie has for long been the most popular personality in YouTube. With over 67 million subscribers to his channel, Felix Kjellberg, as he is known in real life, has been the most subscribed YouTuber of all time.
But recent reports from Tubular states that PewDiepie is likely to lose that top spot to Indian channel T-Series by October 29. T-Series is a Bollywood channel with 66 million subscribers and has already attracted more views on its videos than the Swedish YouTuber and is now well on track to overtake it as the most subscribed channel.
While Kjellberg’s is an individual channel, T-Series is an Indian music record label and film production company. T-Series was founded by Gulshan Kumar in 1983 as an audio cassette firm and joined YouTube in 2006. It, however, started uploading music albums mainly from 2010.
T-Series’ most viewed video is the ‘Lahore’ song by Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa and had garnered over 601 million views.

Meanwhile, PewDiepie is an individual band and attracts over five-million views for all of its videos. But it has slowly fallen behind T-Series, which currently uploads six videos almost every 24 hours. PewDiepie on the other uploads just two videos in the same period and seems to be finding it difficult to keep up with the multimedia and multilingual channel.
A report in Business Insider states that T-Series gained about 4.2 million subscribers in September, which is almost double than PewDiepie’s 863,000.
PewDiepie, who has been always been very vocal on his rivalry with the Indian channel, recently said in a video that,” I don’t really care about T-Series, I generally don’t, but I think if YouTube does shift in a way where it does feel more corporate, then something else will take its place. People enjoy this connection so much, I think something else will show up if it becomes more corporate.”
