Assam NRC issue: Illegal immigrants should be shot, says T Raja Singh
The debate over Assam citizens’ list is getting uglier every minute. Despite the Supreme Court making it clear on Tuesday that the list is just a draft and no action could be taken on this list, blabbering ruling party netas are spewing venom from all corners. Leading the charts is BJP lawmaker T Raja Singh who said that illegal immigrants should be shot.
Speaking on the issue, the motormouth lawmaker from Goshamahal in Telangana called the immigrants pest and used the term ‘dangerous intruders’ for the 40.07 lakh people. He said, “How is it right to keep foreigners in our country?.. There is no need to keep these pests in our country.”
The leader was of the opinion that those people who do not want to leave India peacefully, they should be shot down. He said, “I request the central government to send them away, and if not, like they do in other countries where they shoot dangerous intruders, just like that, in India as well, whichever Rohingya or Bangladeshi does not leave India peacefully, we need to shoot them all.”
Supporting the argument, controversial leader from West Bengal, Dilip Ghosh has crossed all limits this time. The State BJP president threatened of tough days ahead. He said, “If we (BJP) are voted to power in Bengal then we too will implement NRC in Bengal. We will send back illegal citizens to Bangladesh. Tough days are ahead, we will not tolerate any illegal immigrants in Bengal.”
Giving a clear indication that BJP will act tough on the ‘illegal immigrants’, Ghosh said, “Those who are inviting illegal immigrants from the neighbouring country should not talk much about integrity and security of the country.”
Reacting on the above quotes, TMC chairperson and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has indicated for a bloodbath and civil war like condition in India. Alleging that the BJP-led Union government is playing a ‘divide and rule’ politics, she said, “They’re trying to divide people, there will be bloodbath and civil war in the country.” She met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday with her concerns and revealed the same.
