Suzuki India will be launching a new scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Japanese two-wheeler giant hasn’t disclosed any details about the new scooter but we suspect it to be a new 125cc scooter based on the Access 125 – probably the all-new Swish for the Indian market. It was at the 2016 Auto Expo that Suzuki launched the new Access 125 in our two-wheeler market and since then it has gone on to achieve good sales figures.

The new scooter, according to our sources, is a youthful and exciting product and we feel it would be a sporty scooter based on the Access 125. The Access 125 is a very impressive scooter but its styling is more suited for mature buyers, whereas the new Suzuki scooter will be more youth-centric with snazzy styling. It might get equipped with new features like fuel filler cap, fully digital console or maybe even an LED headlamp. It is also expected that Suzuki might tune the engine or the gear ratios for more peppy performance. The new 125cc scooter might employ a plastic body to further reduce the weight.
The Suzuki Burgman Street is a sporty 125cc scooter specifically designed for the Indian market. The Burgman Street will be the first scooter to feature European design philosophy.
The Burgman Street to be priced around Rs 67,000 to Rs 70,000 ex-showroom.
The Suzuki Burgman Street will take on the likes of Honda Grazia, Aprilia SR 125 and TVS Ntorq 125.0
The company has already started taking bookings for the Burgman for a token amount of ₹ 5,000 across dealerships in India. The scooter was spotted on Indian roads while the company was shooting a TV commercial.
