On Monday, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was interrogated by the Mumbai Police in Bandra police station in connection with Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s suicide case. Now, the police stated that Bhansali offered the late actor four films, but due to his busy schedules and prior commitments, he could not be a part of those films.
According to Abhishek Trimukhe, the DCP (Zone IX), Mumbai Police, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali was planning to take Sushant in four of his films. But due to the unavailability of dates, the films were offered to other actors.”
Further, Trimukhe said, “The Mumbai Police are investigating all important details about this case. The Mumbai Police are waiting for a response from Nodal of Twitter about the alleged tweets circulated on social media from SSR handle.”
He said that CCTV recordings of the building where SSR was living has also been taken into custody for further investigation. “No CCTVs installed in Sushant’s house. Forensic reports are awaited,” said Trimukhe.
As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, earlier a source close to them informed that “Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjay Leela Bhansali were quite fond of each other as well as their work. In fact, not once but 4 times working together was on the cards for them, SLB had offered him 4 films, but due to date issues, things didn’t materialize.”
SSR committed suicide at his Bandra residence on June 14. The cause of death has been identified as ‘asphyxia due to hanging’. The late actor’s mortal remains were cremated at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle in Mumbai and his ashes were immersed by his family in the Ganga river.
