The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suraj Pal Amu, who announced a Rs 10 crore bounty on Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s head ahead of film ‘Padmavat’ release is back in BJP. The BJP has reportedly not accepted Suraj Pal Amu’s resignation. He told ANI on Monday “It’s like coming back to my home,”
The controversial leader Amu had resigned from different posts of BJP unit dates back, but Haryana BJP Cheif Subhash Barala has rejected his resignation today. In his almost three-decades-long political career, he was given different posts in the party and its student wing.
“These were very tough 8 months for me to stay away from the party, however, I kept working in different social organisations. It is like a homecoming for me,” he said.
Amu, who heads Karni Sena, had reportedly quit from his post of party chief media coordinator, Haryana, in November last year. After the state, BJP chief Subhash Barala issued him a show cause notice for his controversial remarks ahead of the film Padmavat release.
Due to his controversial remark, he had been arrested and later released on bail earlier in January by Gurugram Police on charges of breaching peace prior to the film’s release. Karni Sena and several fringe outfits had protested against the film’s release, alleging that the film had portrayed Rajput queen Padmini in poor light.
