Supernatural star Jared Padalecki was arrested in Austin on account of assault and public intoxication. As reported by TMZ, Padalecki was detained after he allegedly hit a bartender and the general manager of the bar. Police officers were called into the bar shortly after 2 a.m. and arrested him on suspicion of assault. The actor is claimed to be a regular at the bar where the alleged altercation took place.
TMZ posted a video that shows Padalecki putting another man in a headlock on a sidewalk outside the bar. He then raises his hands in the air in a pacifying gesture. Another video clip shows the actor leaning against a car and taking money out of his pocket while officers are nearby. He is then put in the back of a police car.
Jared Padalecki is not currently in custody, according to online records by the Travis County Jail.
The actor has portrayed the character of Sam Winchester in CW’s long-running Supernatural since its inception. The show is halfway through production on Season 15. This is going to be the show’s last season and will contain 20 episodes to wrap up the story. Padalecki was home on a break when the incident took place and is not scheduled to resume filming until later this week.
Deadline reports, that the actor is not currently in custody and the incident will not affect the production of Supernatural’s final season.
With Supernatural coming to a close, Padalecki’s next project is Walker. The series is in development at the CW.
