A new promotional video shared by HBO Max has revealed unseen footage of some high profile films. The movies will be hitting simultaneous in theatres and on HBO Max this year. This is a part of Warner Bros controversial new release strategy. The movies lined up for release are The Suicide Squad, Dune, The Conjuring 3, Godzilla vs Kong and Space Jam 2.
HBO Max tweeted, This year every @WBPictures movie will be in theatres and streaming exclusively on HBO Max. The biggest premieres every single month.
In the new Same Day Premieres trailer, we get to see the first look at several films from its upcoming lineup.
Films making their online debut include the new Mortal Kombat, Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Cry Macho, and King Richard, which sees Will Smith star as Venus and Serena Williams’ father and coach. Also Dune.
The decision to release all the films simultaneously on the streaming platform was controversial. A lawsuit was averted when makers of Dune and Godzilla vs Kong arrived at an agreement. Godzilla vs Kong will be released in March. This Friday, Warner Bros will debut The Little Things.
The HBO Max streaming service has multiple original shows in production. Earlier this week, news of a possible Harry Potter series is also viral on social media.
