Here are 10 women who should replace Suhana on the cover of Vogue India as an ‘Achiever’

Vogue India magazine recently featured Suhana Khan on their cover.  Soon after the cover received appreciation from well know Bollywood celebs, the internet users started making fun of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana for being a star kid and how she is being favored with Nepotism. Many questions were raised on what has she exactly achieved in her life to get ‘featured’ on the cover of established magazine Vogue India . Similarly, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor was also criticised for getting featured on the magazine’s cover.

Nepotism has always been a part of the Indian film industry, yet people were taken off guard when they saw Suhana’s image on the cover of the magazine titled ‘The Vogue Beauty Awards 2018’. Was she given the title by the Magazine on the basis of her beauty? It’s a 100% case of over-dose Nepotism.

India is filled with young achievers, who have excelled in every field of work. From sports, media, defense, science and technology and literature. Indian women have denominated all male sectors and have excelled in every field for which they deserve recognition.

Here are 10 women who should replace Suhana on the cover of Vogue India as an ‘Achiever’:

1. Nandita Das

Actor and director Nandita Das has been doing explicitly genuine film making since long time. She is among those woman who are the symbol of  ‘Devi’ in Indian cinema. Her “Dark is Beautiful” campaign aims to draw attention to ills of discrimination on basis of skin color in India. She definitely deserves coverage for standing up against racism and stereotypical approach in our society.

2. Anny Divya

 

This lady pilot made the country proud of her flying skills, she started her at the age of 17 and in 2017, this Indian pilot became the youngest woman commander in the world to fly a Boeing 777, the largest twin-jet in the world.

3. Geeta Tandon

 

Geeta Tandon is one of the famous Bollywood stuntwomen.  She just acquired basic training in her skills and has survived domestic violence, sexual abuse from her child marriage at the age of 16.  Today this woman has broken all the stereotypes, also leading her own wonderful lifestyle.

4. Seema Rao

This woman has trained Special Forces of India for 18 years, without any compensation. She is among the people who are first to settle a new area in quarter battle and in the art of fighting in tight proximity. Now that deserves being featured on magazine cover.

5. Deepika S Rajawat

This lady lawyer fought against dangerous threats to help an eight-year-old raped and murder victim’s family to get justice.  She has been awarded as ‘Woman of the Year’ at the Indian Merchants Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ladies Wing.

6. Rani Rampal

She was just 15-year-old when she joined Women’s Hockey team of India  and now at the age of 23, she became the captain of the team. She has received two prominent awards, ‘Player of the Tournament’ Award and also the Arjuna Award for her exceptional talent that has won medals for India.

7. Meena Kandasamy

She is an active feminist who has worked on anti-caste movements in the country. She spreads awareness through her poetry and have represented India at several foreign writing programs as a fiction writer.

8. Tessy Thomas

Tessy Thomas is an Indian scientist who was the Project Director for the Agni-VI missile in Defense Research and Development Organization. Hence she was the first woman scientist to head a missile project in the country.  Today she is the  first ‘Missile Woman of India’ , following A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who is the original Missile Man of India.

9. Hima Das

The young and amazingly talented sports girl, who is just 18-year-old and first Indian ever to win a Gold medal in a track event at the World U-20 Championships 2018. She started her competitive races just 18 months ago.

10. Avani Chaturvedi

She is the Indian face among women who are on the global list of countries  to fly the fighter jets. Avani is the first Indian women fighter pilot to fly solo. She flew the MiG-21 Bison which has the highest landing and take-off speed in the world.
