Naranipuzha Shanavas, director of ‘Sufiyam Sujatayum’ has passed away late night on December 23. Shanavas had suffered a heart attack on the sets of his film. He was soon rushed to KG hospital in Coimbatore. The popular director reportedly went into cardiogenic shock and was declared brain dead.
On Wednesday night, he was shifted to Aster Medicity in Kochi from Coimbatore in a ventilator supported ambulance. But the filmmaker succumbed to a heart attack. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Kochi. He was 37 year old.

Fans, celebrities and followers mourned his untimely demise and extended condolences to the family.
Aditi Rao Hydari wrote, “As kind and sensitive as his stories…Rest in Peace Shanavas sir… I Hope your Sufi soul finds a place as beautiful as the one you created for us in Sufiyum Sujathayum. Gone too soon. My Prayers and condolences to the family.”
