The incident happened on the third and the final day of the second Test match in Hyderabad where Law made inappropriate comments after going to the TV umpire’s room following the dismissal of Kieran Powell.

“He then walked to the fourth umpire’s area and, in the presence of the players, again directed inappropriate comments at the fourth official, ” stated the ICC.

Following this behaviour, the Australian was found guilty of violating Level 2 Article 2.7 of the ICC Code of Conduct which deals with,” public criticism” or “inappropriate comment” of a player, support personnel or match official in an international match.

A statement by the ICC stated that Law has also been fined 100 per cent of his match fee.

Law has now gathered four demerit points within one year which has thus led to him being suspended from the Guwahati and Visakhapatnam ODIs on October 21 and 24, respectively.

On-field umpires Bruce Oxenford and Ian Gould and third umpire Nigel Llong along with fourth official Nitin Menon put on the charges on Law.
