On Friday, the Narcotics Control Bureau said that Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-flatmate Siddharth Pithani has been arrested from Hyderabad in connection with drugs case linked to the late actor’s demise. The arrest comes weeks before Rajput’s first death anniversary.
A tweet on news agency ANI, that confirmed Siddharth’s arrest, read: “Narcotics Bureau Control arrests Siddharth Pathani from Hyderabad in the drugs case linked to Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death: NCB.”

Sameer Wankhede, who is in charge of Mumbai Zonal Unit, NCB, confirmed to the Times Of India and said: “Siddharth Pithani has been arrested and he will be shortly produced in court.”
The arrest comes almost two and half months after the NCB filed a 12,000-page charge sheet against 33 people, including actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik.
Pithani was questioned multiple times by the Mumbai police and the CBI in connection with the Rajput’s death case.
Sidharth Pithani, who lived with Sushant Singh Rajput at his Bandra flat, was among the four people present who witnessed to see Sushant hanging from the ceiling of his room.
In the past, Sushant’s girlfriend-actor Rhea Chakraborty, and her brother Showik were also arrested by the agency in the alleged drugs case. Almost after a month in jail, Rhea was granted bail in October 2020, later, Showik was also let out on bail.
A few Bollywood actresses including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan were also interrogated by the NCB in connection to SSR’s case.
The ‘Kai Po Che’ actor’s death is currently being investigated by three agencies – the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on June 14, 2020, at his Bandra residence in Mumbai.
