Samajwadi Party president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has tested COVID-19 positive. The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister tested positive days after returning from Haridwar. He is at present isolating at home.
The minister took to Twitter and announced that he has tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19). “My corona test report has just come positive. I have isolated myself and treatment has started at home.”
He added, “Those who have come in contact with me in the last few days, the most humble request is that they also get it checked. They are also requested to remain in isolation for a few days.”

A few days back Yadav had met Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri. The Mahant recently tested positive for COVID-19. Giri is currently undergoing treatment at a private nursing home in Haridwar.
On Tuesday, state chief minister Yogi Adityanath went into self-isolation after coming into contact with some of his Covid-19 positive staffers.
Uttar Pradesh has imposed strict restrictions to curb the rise in COVID-19 cases in the state.
