On August 5, 2020, veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam tested positive for the novel Coronavirus. He was undergoing treatment at MGM Healthcare in Chennai. The latest update on the playback singer states that he continues to be in a critical condition and on ventilator and ECMO support.
The hospital shared an official statement that read as: “Thiru S P Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare due to COVID-19 continues to be critical on Ventilator and ECMO support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Our multi-disciplinary team of clinicians have been actively collaborating with national and international experts, and continue to closely monitor his vital parameters.”
On Thursday, the singer’s son SP Charan shared a video on his social media to update fans and well-wishers about his father’s health, in the video, he said, “There has not been much development in my father’s health so far. So there’s not much to update about it. But as I said, we are keeping the hope and faith alive. We are confident that all the prayers that are being showered upon him and his family will help him recover as early as possible.”
Lastly, he said, “I would also like to thank the film and music industry all over the country who are getting together for a mass prayer for my father. We as a family are grateful for this love and affection.”
“I have no words to thank you. These prayers will not go waste. God is merciful, and he will heal appa. A big thank you from myself and my family. Your prayers give us courage,” he concluded.
