On Saturday, BCCI President and former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has been admitted to Kolkata’s Woodlands hospital after he complained of chest pain.
A source close to Sourav gave a health update and said that the former cricketer may need an angioplasty, “Dada (Sourav) complained of chest pain and was rushed to the hospital. He might need to undergo angioplasty. He is out of danger,” the source told ANI.
“BCCI President Sourav Ganguly admitted to Woodland Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal. More details awaited,” reported ANI.
A hospital source told Indian Express, “He was not feeling well last night. However, he decided to continue his morning routine on Saturday and suddenly felt dizzy. The preliminary doctors are trying to identify the cause of this sudden blackout… it might be because of a cardiac problem or any other problem.”
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday expressed her sadness and wished the 48-year-old speedy recovery, “Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!,” she tweeted.

Many other cricketers like Virat Kohli, Virendra Sehwag and many others including politicians, as well as, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah have also wished Sourav Ganguly a speedy recovery.
