Smartwatches are a high-priced featured rich device, they are a blend of tech, tracking, and clock. What if you love your existing watch and wonder if there is a way to turn this into an advance gadget? Well, Sony has the answer, the company picked a different outlook to bring Smart Watch feature on your wrist. Instead of completely replacing a watch and creating an entirely new league of Smartwatch Sony targeted the not-so-important wristband.
Sony’s new wearable wrist band can transform your regular watch into a Smartwatch. A form of a strap that connects with any watch and offers notifications, fitness tracking, payments, etc. There are two models under Wena Bands branding. A full list of features and specification are below.

Sony’s Wena wrist band targets two types of consumers, first one those who just need a band for phone notification and Fitness Tracking. Second an upgraded version with more sensors, detachable head design and silicon body.
Sony Wena is available in UK for pre-order and there is no info when it is going to hit other regions. Contactless Payment is something unique Sony added to the bands. The payment works for Android and iOS but it is not compatible with existing wallets, Google Pay or Apple Pay. To use the feature you will require finding outlets that accept Wena Pay.
Both models feature a clear custom OLED display on the rear end. Wena Pro has a small but useful one that gives you notification from your phone while the full black on Wena Active is much better. The cost of Wrist Pro is around $510 USD and Active is around $450, it can differ on the basis of region. Sony will also introduce Watch Faces with smart features that will cost additional and can come bundled with Wena Straps.
