Sonu Sood gives a befitting reply to Kangana’s allegations
After Kangana Ranaut alleged that Sonu Sood walked out of Manikarnika because he didn’t want to work with a female director, Sonu Sood gives a befitting reply.
She was quoted in a report by NDTV saying, “He refused to meet me. He refused to work under a woman director. Even though the team suggested that they have full faith in me, it seems, Sonu had neither dates nor faith.”
Although a source in the same report said that Sonu has earlied with a woman director and never had a problem with anyone. “Sonu has never had any problems with anyone in his almost two decade-long career. Sonu has previously worked with the woman filmmaker, Farah Khan. Also, Kangana claims that Sonu had shot the kushti scene behind her back, but surprisingly the director has to be present on the set to shoot a film and not just the actor,”said the source.
However, Sonu denied all the allegations and gave her a befitting reply. He issued a statement which said, “Kangana is a dear friend and she will always remain one but this constant playing the woman card , the victim card and making this entire issue abt male chauvinism is ridiculous. The gender of the director is not the issue. Competence is. Let’s not confuse the two. I’ve worked with Farah Khan who is a competent director and Farah and I had a great professional equation and we are still best of friends. That’s all I would like to say.”
Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi is based on the life and struggles of Rani Laxmi Bai. The film also stars TV actress Ankita Lokhande. The film is expected to release on Republic Day 2019.
