Actor Sonu Sood is garnering praises ever since he stepped forward to help the migrant workers during COVID-19 lockdown. He had arranged for transportation for stranded migrant workers and also arranged for PPE kits for people. Sonu Sood has continued with his philanthropic work and fields thousands of daily requests for help even after the lockdown has been lifted.
The actor is conferred the prestigious SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for his efforts
Reportedly the actor has mortgaged his prime properties in Mumbai to help the needy.
according to a report in Money Control, Sonu has mortgaged his two shops and six flats in Juhu’s Shiv Sagar CGHS to raise a Rs 10 crore loan. The same report further states that a registration fee of Rs 5 lakh was paid to raise the loan. While the agreement was signed on September 15 and was registered on November 24. The building with the actor’s property is located along AB Nayar Road, near Iskcon Temple in Mumbai.
“Such a philanthropic gesture is unheard of. While these premium properties will continue to be owned by the actor and his wife and would continue to receive a monthly rental, they may have to pay interest and principal against the Rs 10 crore loan,” the report quoted Ritesh Mehta, Senior Director & Head – West India, Residential Services, JLL India, as saying.
Sonu Sood has not confirmed the news yet. But if the reports do come true then this reel life Hero is in fact a Real-Life HERO.
