Netflix film Space Sweeper featured Song Joong Ki in a never-before-seen avatar. Although the film garnered a mixed reaction from the audience, Song’s quirky antics won million hearts. The film is set in the backdrop of how few South Koreans snatch a crashed space shuttle in the latest debris chase, Spaceship Victory. The crew members then find a 7-year-old girl inside only to realize that she’s the humanlike robot wanted by UTS Space Guards. According to the latest reports, the makers are planning to come up with a sequel for this film.
According to an exclusive report by the Star News, Song Joong Ki starrer Space Sweepers will soon have a sequel. The movie’s VFX supervisors Jeong Seong Jin and Jeong Cheol Min have reportedly agreed to take the lead for the sequel after leading the VFX team for the original movie. The decision apparently commenced after the duo bagged the technical award at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards for their amazing contribution to the film. With such innovative technology and movie plotting, the makers have surely paved the way.
Nothing has been officially confirmed about recasting the original actors in the sequel, however, considering the popularity of Song Joong Ki it is expected that he might be a part of the sequel.
For the unversed, Song Joong Ki was recently seen in court drama- Vincenzo. The actor to be soon seen in a PSY’s song alongside Heize.
