One of the Zoo in Singapore becomes the first ever to welcome a lion cub through artificial process. The baby cub has been conceived through an artificial insemination. It looks beautiful and healthy. It is rare for the lions to be conceived through an artificial insemination. The newly born male cub has been named, Simba by the Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) and its pictures are going viral on the internet.
Simba was conceived after the veterinarians and caretakers collected the semen of the father lion. The baby cub was conceived using the process of electro-ejaculation. The semen was apparently used artificially to inseminate Simba’s mother Kayla. The baby cub look healthy and its first ever African lion born through an artificial insemination.

The population of these wild animals have plummeted more than 40 percent over the past two decades. As about 23,000 to 39,000 mature lions left across the globe according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature. WRS apparently revealed that the African wild lions have an average lifespan of 10 years to 14 years.
