Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is celebrating a different kind of landmark. The WWE Hall of Famer congratulated his daughter Simone Johnson as she officially signed with WWE.
WWE has officially announced that Simone Johnson, Dwayne Johnson’s teenage daughter, has started training at the company’s performance center in Orlando, Florida. Simone is the daughter of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and his first wife Dany Garcia. Simone will become a fourth-generation pro wrestler, following in the footsteps of her father ‘The Rock’ Johnson, her grandfather Rocky Johnson and her great-grandfather Peter Maivia.
“It means the world to me,” Simone said during her contract signing. “To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle but to carry on that legacy.”
She also expressed her excitement over Instagram, writing, “To the little girl who fell in love with wrestling & said ‘this will be my life one day’, this is for you,” she wrote. “I’m humbled, grateful & ready to work. Let’s do this.”
Johnson took to Instagram to congratulate his daughter and wrote, “Dreams ain’t just for dreamers. Congrats to my firstborn, Simone Johnson on officially signing her wrestling contract with @wwe @wwenxt and on her way to becoming the first-ever 4th generation WWE athlete. Carry our family name proudly, but your road will always be yours to create, earn & own. So proud. Live your dream. Let’s work”.
Her mother, Dany Garcia also congratulated her by posting a response, “While the legacy of the family may be your platform, your future will be uniquely yours to earn.”
