Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have tied the knot in the picturesque location of Lake Como in Italy. The lovebirds had got married as per Konkani and Sindhi traditions. The couple had shared the first pictures of their marriage with fans that soon set the social media on fire. But now trouble has come knocking at Deepveer’s door as an Italian Sikh organization has objected to the way the Anand Karaj ceremony was conducted.
As per a report in Times Of India, it is being alleged that Ranveer and Deepika’s Anand Karaj ceremony has violated the Sikh code of conduct as the Akal Takht strictly prohibits taking Guru Granth Sahib to a place other than a Gurudwara.
According to Sukhdev Singh Kang, Indian Sikh Community Italy President, the Akal Takht ‘hukumnama’ sternly prohibits taking Guru Granth Sahib to a place other than a gurdwara. According to The Tribune, Kang also said that he would be writing to Akal Takht Jathedar for necessary action.
Akal Takht Jathedar has apparently responded that they will take the matter to five high priests once the complaint is registered.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are back in the country and were spotted at the Mumbai Airport. They were warmly welcomed by their fans who had been waiting since morning to catch a glimpse. The groom was seen protectively escorting his wife out as they made their way to the car.
The couple is hosting three grand receptions over the next few days. Their first wedding reception will be held on November 21 at Bengaluru, whereas, the other two ceremonies will take place at Grand Hyatt Mumbai on November 28 and December 1 respectively.
