Irrfan Khan’s popular TV show ‘Shrikant’ to re-run on television
In the memory of the later actor Irrfan Khan, his popular TV show from the 80s, Shrikant will be rerun on television.
The entire nation was shocked to learn the news of actor Irrfan Khan passing away on April 29, 2020. The power-house performer’s sudden demise came as a blow not only to the nation but the entire world. Because Irrfan was not just an Indian actor, but a global star. In the memory of the later actor Irrfan Khan, Doordarshan has announced the re-run of his popular TV show from the 80s, ‘Shrikant.’

For the unversed, the ‘Lunchbox’ actor originally ventured into the Indian television industry before stepping into the world of films. He was a part of many television shows like Chandrakanta, Banegi Apni Baat, Chanakya. and many more.
Shrikant is based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyaya’s novel Srikanta. The show aired on Doordarshan from 1985 to 1986, directed by Pravin Nischol and it stars Farooq Sheikh, Sujata Mehta, Irrfan Khan, Mrinal Kulkarni, Sukanya Kulkarni, Tiku Talsania, Asha Sharma in the pivotal roles.
The later actor took his last breathe at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital as he was suffering from Neuroendocrine Tumour and was surrounded by his wife Sutapa and sons, Babil and Ayaan during the time of passing.
