A day after four policemen were kidnapped by the terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen in Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir, three policemen have been killed, while the fourth one — Fayaz Ahmed Bhat — returned safely to his house, informed the Home Ministry. Among the killed include — two Special Police Officers and one constable.
Earlier on Friday, all the four policemen were kidnapped by the terrorists after they barged into the houses of policemen in Kapran village and dragged them out, informed the police. The terrorists have returned the three bullet-ridden bodies of cops, who were kidnapped. This is the second incident in just a week after a BSF jawan was tortured and killed by terrorists in the valley.
The terrorist group — Hizbul Mujahideen — on Tuesday had released a video in which they have threatened the people of Kashmir to resign from police duty or else face the consequences. Reacting on the video, the Union Home Ministry too had expressed its concern on the way the videos are being floated around in several villages.
A report published in NDTV states that six policemen have resigned from the police duty and more might follow the suit. However, no confirmation on the resignations has been noted as of yet.
More details to follow soon.
