Shoojit Sircar remembers late actor Irrfan Khan, says, he can never get over the actor's death.

The world was left into gloom when Irrfan Khan passed away at the age of 53 on April 29, 2020, at Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital as he was suffering from a neuroendocrine tumour. It feels like it was just recently that we were dealing with this tragic news and it has already been a month, the late actor’s close friend Shoojit Sircar remembers him and opens up on missing the actor.

In an interview with Mid-Day, the director, said, “I think about Irrfan every day. His image floats in front of my eyes. We had grown close in the past two years when he underwent treatment. During his last 10 days, I was following up with Sutapa [Irrfan’s wife] and Babil [son]. Babil broke the news to me that morning. I still feel Irrfan is with me, talking to me. I can never get over his loss.”

Shoojit has started the post-production on his next film ‘Sardar Udham Singh.’ Initially, the director wanted to cast Irrfan Khan as the lead, however, the role eventually went to Vicky Kaushal due to the actor’s health concerns.

The shooting for the film was halted due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown, now, the filmmaker said that they will start the shoot shortly and all the guidelines announced by the government will be followed.

Udham Singh is produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar and written by Ritesh Shah and Shubhendu Bhattacharya under the banner of Rising Sun Films, and Kino Works. The film is scheduled for release on January 15, 2021.
