Shikhar Dhawan, who top-scored for India in the 1st T20 opener in Brisbane went ahead of skipper Virat Kohli for most T20I runs in a calendar year.
The contest was reduced to 17-overs-a-side after rain interrupted the Aussie innings and the Indians had to chase down a revised total of 174 runs in 17 overs–which they failed to do achieve, falling short by an agonising margin of four runs at the end via DLS method.
Despite this attractive knock by Dhawan, India needed 13 runs to win from the last over and they could only manage to score 169/7, losing the thrilling contest.
Dhawan came up with an entertaining innings of 76 from 42 balls–a knock where had 10 fours and two sixes to his name.
