Shefali Jariwals talks about her battle with epilepsy: my fitness journey started about 20 years ago

Shefali Jariwala rose to fame with her music album, ‘Kaanta Laga’ and was last seen in Salman Khan’s reality show ‘Bigg Boss 13.’ Now, in an interview, she spoke in detail about her first epileptic seizure when she was 15 years old. She also spoke about her fitness journey.

Talking to Times Of India, she spoke about how she gained weight due to the medication, “I was 15 years old when I had my first epileptic seizure. Yes, I was an epileptic. The medication that I had to take because of the condition caused a lot of weight gain. Shortly, after that I did a music video which was a big hit after that I was really busy with work, dancing all the time. I had to keep my energy levels up and also look good on camera. That’s when I realized I need to shed a few kilos and I went to gym for the very first time, so my fitness journey started from there about 20 years ago and it has a whole new meaning today.”

The ‘Kanta Laga’ girl said that her workout regime is very different now, as initially, she would only do cardio, gymming, and heavyweight training. She learnt that as a woman’s body changes a lot post the age of 30 and there should be some changes with the workout regime too.

“What started 20 years ago with just something for me to lose weight, has become so big for me today,” said Jariwala.

Shefali has featured in several music albums like ‘Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar’ remix and ‘Pyaar Humaayn Kis Mod Pe Le Aaya’ remix, and also made a guest appearance in Salman Khan’s ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karoge’
