‘Shaktimaan’ is considered as one of the first Hindi speaking TV superhero shows and has played a major part of every 90’s kid’s childhood. Mukesh Khanna — who played the superhero in Shaktimaan — now confirmed that Shaktimaan sequel in the works. Well, isn’t that exciting?
Talking to Bombay Times about Shaktimaan part 2, he said, “For the last three years, we have been working towards bringing out the second edition of Shaktimaan, which is contemporary but rooted in our values. We were working on the sequel because people wanted to know, aage kya hua.”
Mukesh Khanna also added, “I feel whenever we return to work after this crisis, I will be in a better position to bring out the second part because the demand for it is higher than ever before.”
The actor took to his official Twitter handle and tweeted, “130 crore Indians will together get the opportunity to watch Shaktiman on DD once again. Wait for the announcement.”

Talking about the popular show, ‘Shaktimaan: The Animated Series’ was a super hit and went on to complete a run of 520 episodes till 2005 and aired on Sonic. The show’s producer Mukesh Khanna represented the role of Shaktimaan and his alter ego Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri, who appears to be a photojournalist.
Meanwhile, amid the COVID-19, popular 80s and 90s shows – Ramayan, Mahabharat, Byomkesh Bakshi, and Circus have made a return on television during the 21 days lockdown.
