Shahid Kapoor Roped In As Karna For Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Project? 

Shahid Kapoor’s last release was Kabir Singh which also starred Kiara Advani. The film broke records at the box-office. He is currently gearing up to release his cricket drama, Jersey, which is a remake of a Telugu film. Amidst the buzz about about this film, he makes headlines for apparently bagging yet another big project. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will reportedly helm this project which is an adaption of Mahabharata.

According to a latest report by Bollywood Hungama, Shahid Kapoor has been roped in to portray Karna’s role in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s adaptation of Mahabharata. The film will be made focused to Shahid’s character, Karna. The same report also states that it is currently unclear, whether the producers are planning to make a film inspired by the story of Mahabharata or it would be an actually mythological drama. Omprakash always wanted to make this film and now he is making it with the Shaandaar actor. While it is bankrolled by Ronnie Screvwala.

Shahid Kapoor has not confirmed anything about this project as of yet. However, it would be interesting to see him portraying such characters. The star is known for ruling million hearts with his screen performances.
