A few days after the official announcement of the Hindi remake of Dear Comrade, there are reports doing the rounds that Karan Johar has approached Karan Johar to play the lead role. Shahid Kapoor, who is currently basking in the success of Kabir Singh, has not announced his next project as of now. Notably, Kabir Singh was a remake of Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, which starred Vijay Devarakonda in the lead role.
Dear Comrade is a Telugu film, whose Hindi remake rights have been purchased by ace filmmaker Karan Johar. The announced of making Hindi remake of Dear Comrade came after Vijay Deverakonda visited Mumbai and showed the film to KJo.
Earlier there were reports making headlines that Karan Johar will feature Dhadak actors Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar in the lead roles. Confirming the news, KJo took to social media and said, “All the best and big success to the team of #DearComradeOnJuly26th! Also a CLARIFICATION! No lead actors have been considered or approached for the film as yet! The planning for this lovely film is underway!”
According to a report in Mumbai, Karan Johar had offered the leading role of Dear Comrade to Shahid Kapoor but he refused to do one more film of Vijay’s Telugu hit film.
Post success of Kabir Singh, it was being stated that Shahid has increased his fees to a whopping Rs 40 crores, however, the actor rubbished all such claims as he said that he needs to sign a film to hike his fees.
If reports are to be believed, Shahid Kapoor has been in talks with Raj Kumar Gupta for a film but no official announcement of the same is made as of now.
