Coronavirus outbreak has caused a lot of difficulties in the nation and Bollywood celebrities are doing their best to extend help to people in need. Due to the pandemic, the Bollywood background dancers too are facing troubles. Shahid Kapoor has come to their rescue, he has lent a helping hand to over 40 dancers.
Reportedly, the ‘Kabir Singh’ actor has transferred funds directly to the bank accounts of dancers. The actor has shortlisted dancers right from his debut film, ‘Ishq Vishk’ till his last film, and has decided to help them.
According to a report in Times Of India, Raj Surani, a former background, revealed, “Shahid Kapoor recently transferred money to the bank accounts of dancers he has worked. He has extended support to around 40 dancers and has stated that he will help them for the next 2-3 months.”
Further, stating, “We shortlisted dancers from the days when he started his career with ‘Ishq Vishq’. It has been 17 years and they are in a bad condition, they may not be working right now. Apart from them we have even included those dancers who worked with him in ‘Dhating Naach’, ‘Shaandaar’ and ‘Agal Bagal’,” Raj added. 20 dancers from choreographer Bosco’s troupe and 20 from choreographer and filmmaker Ahmed Khan’s group have been supported by Shahid.
For the unversed, Shahid Kapoor started his career as a background dancer and was a part of films like ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ and ‘Taal.’
On the work front, the actor will be seen in the remake of hit South flick ‘Jersey‘ which also stars Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur, and an ensemble cast, directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri and adapted from his 2019 Tollywood film under the same title, which was portrayed by Nani.
