A few months back, veteran actor Shabana Azmi was involved in a car accident near Kahalpur on Mumbai-Pune Expressway on January 18, 2020, later was rushed to the MGM hospital in Navi Mumbai and later shifted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in suburban Andheri the same day. When the mishap took place, photos from her accident took over the Internet in no time.
The veteran actress is now fully recovered and talking to Hindustan Times, she spoke about the viral photos of her unfortunate accident, she said, “My family was upset. It was kept away from me for the longest time as I didn’t have my cellphone. When I saw it, I was on my way to recovery. At that moment, I was just really grateful to those who helped me and the hospital staff.”
Shabana Azmi also said that she is currently working in Budapest shooting for ‘Halo’ which is produced by Steven Spielberg and is happy to be back on the sets.
The 69-year-old actress will be seen next in a short film titled ‘Sheer Qorma.’ The movie revolves around two women who are in love with each other.
Further, when asked if the depiction of the LGBTQ society in Hindi cinema has changed, she said, “The audience, too, is accepting this kind of cinema. Earlier, homosexuality was ridiculed in mainstream cinema but now, we see this subject being tackled sensitively. But at the same time, I feel it is only a section of audience especially in the metros who has have accepted this change.”
