Mauro Icardi scored twice as Inter Milan jumped to second in the Serie A points table with a 3-0 victory Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico Stadium on Monday. It was Inter’s sixth straight victory in 10 league matches in the season, which started with Sassuolo and Parma.
The victory helped Inter draw level with Napoli. Both have 22 points after 10 rounds of matches, but Internazionale are on second on the basis of a greater goal difference.
Skipper Icardi put Inter ahead in the 28 minute after the home team had failed to clear the ball despite several attempts. The Argentine then tapped in from close range after a cross from Matteo Politano was flicked into his path by Ivan Perisic and Matias Vecino.

Marcelo Brozovic then added a second four minutes before halftime with a low shot from outside the Lazio box after the home defenders had only half-cleared a corner.
Lazio on the other failed to create chances and even when they came close to scoring on some occasions, Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was at hand to parry them away.
Icardi then settled the victory for Inter Milan with a well-placed finish in the 70th minute. Borja Valero threaded a lovely ball behind the Lazio defence, which the striker cut back-in before slotting the ball past Thomas Strakosha.
It was the Argentine’s sixth goal in four games for Inter.
