Serena Williams slams authorities for excessive drug tests; claims discrimination
Tennis ace Serena Williams accused the US doping chiefs of “racial discrimination” claiming that she is targeted for drug tests more than any other players.
The 36-year-old who had slammed the authorities at Wimbledon for “unfair treatment” after being repeatedly targeted from the drug testers, once again spoke of the discriminatory behavior after being called to another such drug tests.
In a series of tweets she posted on Wednesday, the 23-time Grand Slam winner spoke of how she, unlike other players, was repeatedly summoned to come and appear a drug test.
“…and it’s that time of the day to get “randomly” drug tested and only test Serena. Out of all the players it’s been proven I’m the one getting tested the most. Discrimination? I think so. At least I’ll be keeping the sport clean #StayPositive,” said Serena in her first tweet.
But despite the complaint she said she was happy to do anything that could keep the sports clean. “But I’m ready to do whatever it takes to have a clean sport so bring it on. I’m excited” she added.
