Netflix has finally unveiled the official trailer of biographical drama Selena: The Series. The streaming platform has also shared the release date of the much-awaited series.

Starring Christian Serratos as the late Mexican-American singer, the series chronicles the iconic singer’s rise. The coming-of-age tale focuses on Selena as she pursues her dreams and navigates fame, family, and music. In 1995, Selena was murdered at the age of 23 by her friend and former president of her fan club.
Selena is called as one of the most famous Mexican American entertainers. She is also known as the Queen of Tejano music. Her album Selena Live! won a Grammy in 1994. Her posthumous album Dreaming of You debuted on top of the Billboard 200 chart.
Part one of the two-part series is produced by the Quintanilla family alongside Netflix. It will premiere on Dec. 4, 2020
Christian Serratos is set to star as Selena Quintanilla, Ricardo Chavira as Abraham Quintanilla, Gabriel Chavarria as Selena’s brother AB. Noemi Gonzalez as her sister Suzette, Seidy Lopez as her mother Marcella, and Madison Taylor Baez as Young Selena.
Selena: The Series, categorized as a TV/Drama, comes 23 years after the release of the Oscar-nominated biographical movie Selena, directed by Gregory Nava and starring Jennifer Lopez.
