Selena Gomez was at the Cannes Film Festival on the 2nd day as well. She had an amazingly stylish yet simple outfit. She was at the panel yesterday after the premiere of her film ‘The Dead Don’t Die’. She has opted for a change from the all-white look as from day 1.
Selena Gomez mentions that social media has been very terrible, especially for her generation. She adds ”I understand that it’s amazing to use as a platform but it does scare me when you see how exposed these young girls and boys are. I think it’s dangerous for sure.”
When asked whether as one of the most followed social media users she had a responsibility in making the platforms safer, the actress said that it was ‘impossible to make it safe at this point’. She says it ‘scares’ her to see how ‘exposed’ young people can be on the internet.
Selena Gomez plays the role of ‘wifi-obsessed hipster’ in the film ‘The Dead Don’t Die’. The singer and actress has an impressive 150 million followers on Instagram but she often takes a break from the platform. The actress had taken 5 months break last year from the web platform.
”Taking a social media break. Again,’ she wrote. ‘As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given”, Selena says. She also adds “Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi.”
The film ‘The Dead Don’t Die is set to release on 19th July in the UK.
