Seema Nanda, the first Indian American to be designated as the CEO of the opposition Democratic National Committee, has pledged to help elect Democrats from all over USA and also fight for the ‘soul of the country’.
“We are fighting now for the soul of our country — for our democracy and for opportunity,” said Nanda. She is the first Indian American in the history of America to be CEO of either the Democratic National Committee or the Republican National Committee to take over the reigns of the main opposition party. As the CEO of the committee she will be responsible for the day-to-day operations.
“Democrats are offering the positive solutions so desperately needed right now — solutions forged by the strength of our diversity, the rigour of our ideas, and the decency of our values. Since Trump took office, it’s been clear that the number one best way for us to set our country back on track is to elect Democrats in every corner of our country. That’s why I took this job,” Nanda said in her first message to Democratic supporters.
Nanda further ascertained that supporting the Democratic party is equivalent to securing a safe and secure future for the children of America and where opportunity for all is justified.
She said that the Democratic party is strong because of its aim to include everyone in the path of progress and prosperity and stated that she is proud to be the first Asian American to lead the DNC.
Seema Nanda said that the citizens of America must fight to take back the country for working families. She said that through their nationwide ‘I will vote’ campaign, Democrats will be endowing state parties by recruiting or establishing organisers and mobilising 50 million voters, across 50 states by November 2018.
Nanda further said, that the aim of the party workers is to help aid the Democratic leaders to contest and win all the seats across America and this can be achieved only by setting their goals higher than ever before.
