Sunil Chhetri : Scoring against Bahrain might instigate wild celebrations
33- year old Sunil Chhetri owned the fixture between India and Chinese Taipei yesterday at Mumbai football arena. Chhetri scored a hat- trick with his goal count reaching 59 goals in 99 appearances for India. There were no major celebrations even after a major 5 goal victory.
It was the 3rd career hat-trick for Sunil Chhetri. Scoring goals is a source of happiness and taking it for granted is not appropriate says the Indian Captain. He also added that he is quite fortunate to have scored so many goals in his career, but wild celebrations have never been his forte.
He also stated that if he scores against the intriguing Bahrain side in AFC Asian cup he will celebrate like never before. Jumping, shouting and celebrating will be understatements at that moment. He crisply indicates that scoring against a difficult team will give more pleasure. Coming Monday, Chhetri will play his 100th game for India.
Quoting the attention and praise after a 5-0 victory he talks about the irony and adverse reaction difference when the team loses so its always better to stay grounded and do what you are best at. So he majorly believes in being focused on the game and taking his goals seriously.
