School dropout raped by eight in Tamil Nadu

A 16-year-old girl from Puducherry was allegedly raped by eight boys at the Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu, the police said on Sunday.

The boys filmed the act and later used it to blackmail and persuade the girl for repeated sexual assaults on her.

Reportedly, the girl, a school dropout, had developed an intimacy with a youth from Vazhudavoor in the Villupuram district. She lives in Puducherry, but would often come here to visit her grandparents.

It was during one such visits when the girl was taken into an isolated place near the village and raped her. The accused also filmed the act on his mobile and blackmailed the girl with dire consequences if she informed anyone, said the police.

The accused then showed the video to his seven other friends, who persuaded the victim to come to a palm grove and raped her taking turns, they added.

After repeated such assaults the girl finally informed her parents about the heinous crime of her acquaintance. She was then taken to a goverment hospital and it was the hospital authorities, who informed the Child Welfare Committee about the incident.

They also informed the police at Tirukanoor in Puducherry, who registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The eight accused youths have been missing since then.

Minor girl gangraped after escaping school

A 15-year-old girl, who had absconded school was alleagedly raped by four men for as many days in the Dewas distict of Madhya Pradesh.

The girl reportedly did not return from school on July 16 and a case of missing was filed by her parents at the Nemawar police station the following day. Upon search, she was found near the Sandalpur Road.

All four of the accused have now been arrested, the police said after the girl had narrated the ordeal to her parents.

She informed that she had escaped school at 8 am and boarded a bus on July 16. The conductor of the bus raped her throughout the night and then again later she was assaulted by two bikers, Sanjay and Gopal Meena who had offers her a lift.

Finally after escaping from them, when she returned to the village, another person named Rajun Verma dragged her to a forest and raped her.

The accused are likely to be given death sentence under the state’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, wherein assaulters of a minor are judged to be given death penalty.
